Fall 2018 is about ... food!

This September, KTS will take a big bite into the science of food, from the chemical reactions that give browned foods their delicious flavor to the biology of the different microbes that help us make bread, beer and yogurt.

Through activities and experiments, we'll learn about how our digestive systems evolved over millions of years and how they change in the shorter term of babies' development, as their microbiomes get established.

We'll also learn about the smells and flavors that make food so enjoyable and how the brain processes that information. We'll discuss food sustainability and diet fads as well, and any other topics that the kids bring to our class!

Of course, because this is Kids Talk Science, we'll make some outrageously wonderful videos to explain what we learned.

About the Program

O  How do we teach at KTS?

Each session, we tackle a different science topic through hands-on activities, demonstrations, experiments, and videos. Then the kids find the most fun way of explaining it to the world. Watch their productions!

In Kids Talk Science, storytelling takes center stage and there’s a role for everybody and room for every personality. Check out our Blog.
