Today we talked about color and how painters through the ages have managed to find pigments in the most unusual places.

Pigments hold a lot of clues that can help an art science detective. Watch this cool video, The Chemistry of color, to learn more.

So today we made pigments from fruit, vegetables, soil and coal.

We also went back to the topic of bristles and hair, another source of potential clues in an art fraud case. Here are the brushes the kids made. Pretty cool!

And finally, everybody got to create a little piece of art. The paintings are still wet so we'll show them to you next time.
